I have many hats and many hobbies.
Yes I keep very busy.
Yes I stretch myself too thin sometimes.
Who cares? I am having fun doing as many things as I can in this lifetime.
Isn't that what life is for?
This blog reflects on my lifestyle and philosophies, rants and raves, and
hopefully a bit of humor.
I chose this background because it is so artistic, comfortable, and shows both sides of the day. Just like our everyday lives.

So now I am into my second week of drum lessons (doumbek). I have already learned far more than I ever have from any other lessons I have taken! I have a more confident style of playing and getting better sound from the drum by using these new techniques.
And to top it off, the teacher is planning a performance in March and wants us to perform! Woohoo! It’s been awhile since I have performed, and now I have two in March, the other one being with my drum ensemble.
I don’t if anyone out there reading this is a musician and have done gigs, but for those who haven’t, it’s addicting! Hearing the applause, feeling the energy from the audience as they clap in rhythm or dance to the music. It’s a lot of work and you are both exhilarated and exhausted at the same time!
I tool some time off from all this to re-group and take care of personal matters. Now I am really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!
How about it? Any other musicians out there?

Our esteemed Gov. Schwarzenegger has been pushing for health coverage for everyone, especially those who do not have medical insurance, nor can afford it.
There are several other states who have this option, and several others who are pushing to carry a health program for all residents as well. Even Bush has gotten onto the medical insurance bandwagon.
With the obvious interest to make sure everyone has adequate health care, why not just move to socialized medicine, like Canada and Great Britain? The U.S. is on of the only industrialized countries that does not have social medical coverage, so why not?
Cost of health care and prescriptions has skyrocketed, and less an less people are able to afford any health care at all without falling into serious debt. Unless of course you are rich.
I think it’s time to put a stop to outrageous health care costs and make it available to everyone. No one should be turned away from having proper medical coverage! So, yeah, the doctors and big corporations that run health care will have a fit, but so what? What’s more important?

Ok, so I knew it would happen eventually. I have nothin’ to write about…stumped. Too many things goin’ on in my head, not enough things coming out into the blog! Maybe the weekend will present better material.
Oh here’s something! There was a huge fire in our town, biggest one in history, that totalled a new condo complex under construction. It is still burning tonight, but they have it mostly under control. Luckily, it’s not close enough to worry about, but still scary at the same time!
