I have many hats and many hobbies.

Yes I keep very busy.

Yes I stretch myself too thin sometimes.

Who cares? I am having fun doing as many things as I can in this lifetime. Isn't that what life is for?
This blog reflects on my lifestyle and philosophies, rants and raves, and hopefully a bit of humor.

I chose this background because it is so artistic, comfortable, and shows both sides of the day. Just like our everyday lives.

Summer Protection

One thing I have realized is that the summer time is a host to skin damage. Between the hot and bright sun to the increase of insect activity, it’s time to protect the outer covering that protects your innards! Read the rest of this entry »

I Am An Owl

As a follow-up from the summer issue, I have always been a night-owl. Daytime work or functionality barely exists for me. I am not a morning person by any means, and do all my best work at night - sometimes very late at night.

No matter what daytime schedule I have worked, I could never get used to it. I also tend to be an insomniac, and even though I may be tired from the day, I sometimes cannot sleep. I can sleep all day, however with no problem whatsoever.

So I cope with it and drink coffee, energy drinks, and the horn of a rhinosaurus. Whatever works to keep me awake during the day!

Any other nigh owls out there? How do you deal with work and a life of night alertness?

Summer is Here! eww

Hot and stick, and yes, summer is here. The temp has been going up and up, and it looks like a heat wave coming soon.

As long as I have lived in Southern California, I have never gotten used to the low rainfall and heat of the summer. I don’t know why. But at the very least I don’t live as further inland as I used to. No more 115 degree weather, now it hardly peaks above 100 nearer to the coast. But it has it’s days.

One thing about the coast - it’s humid. It does actually cool down at night at least, rather than staying hot and never really getting relief. Here, the cool afternoon and evening breezes from the ocean keep things comfortable. The shade is almost always nice - just don’t step into the sunlight!

I tend to burn easily, and no tan remains. I go from white to red and then back. So I keep away from direct sunlight as much as possible. Although this weekend was an exception as we had drum gigs and I had to be out in the sun. ACK!

I am desperately awaiting a good solid thunderstorm!
