This, That, and Then Some

I cannot believe I have had this blog for over two years now. Of course, the last year it has been largely ignored. Not intentionally, just kinda lost interest.

So here I am again, on Thanksgiving, working overtime on my websites to revamp, restyle, and re-ignite interest and content in them. For now.

I have been focusing on writing my novels, and work has been stressful and busy. So needless to say, everything else has gotten pushed off.

Except for my drumming. That has never stopped. In fact, it has increased quite a bit. Again, I haven’t even updated my drum blog either, just left things hanging for now.

I have also deleted a LOT of old content. I wanted to start more fresh with new content, but had to leave some of the older postings up.

So, here is the new look, new directions, and new ideas. Read on!

Not THAT kind of pipe! A traditional smoking pipe. It’s one of the cheaper kinds, but hey, it’s a start.

I am trying to wean myself off of cigarettes and into pipe smoking. Not neccessarily healthier, but better than inhaling since you don’t (or at least aren’t supposed to) inhale pipe tobacco. I was always intrigued by pipe smoking as it is a quiet simple that you do to pass the time, read, or watch TV or in social gatherings.

I have always loved the smell of a good pipe tobacco. It is richer and more pungent that a regular cigarette any day. I know, some people hate the smell of pipe tobacco, but a lot of people love it. I think in the long run with so many people hating smokers and cigarette smoke these days, I think this is a more pleasant smell. And it will probably force me to cut down - and eventually to quit, cigarettes for  good!

This is going to be a test…a test to see who remembers The Electric Light Orchestra! Oh…and to see if us old people are out there…yep…I am dating some of you!

I recently found a couple of CD’s of ELO to put on my iPod and it really brings back memories! They have been my favorite band for many, many years, even some of their new stuff (even without Jeff Lynne) and I never get tired of listening to them.

It’s amazing how music can really put you into a place in time. I remember places I was going, what I was feeling, or doing at various times when I listen to that music. To me, it’s a style that will never die. I have talked to a lot of people, even young people, who dig the ELO. That’s pretty cool. My one regret is I never got the chance to see them in concert.

The weird part is…I am burning songs onto a technological piece of equipment from the 21st century…that was once listened to on vinyl records. ACK!
